Sir Michael Gambon was born in Cabra, Dublin, Ireland, to Mary (Hoare), a seamstress, and Edward Gambon, an engineer. After joining the National Theatre, under the Artistic Directorship of Sir Laurence Olivier, Gambon went on to appear in a number of leading roles in plays written by Alan Ayckbourn. Dumbledore's part in the seventh book is pretty small. There is only one film with Michael Gambon as Dumbledore that could have influenced Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Therefore, it's pretty unlikely that Michael Gambon's portrayal of Dumbledore influenced JKR's writing.
